The positive approach of Egg Farmers of Canada towards egg allergies
February 15, 2010

The Egg Farmers of Canada have posted a section on their website about egg allergies.

Parents of allergic babies and children will find the right answers from the industry on how to approach and deal with this food allergy. Egg allergy is one of the most common food allergen with babies, infants and toddlers.

Under this special section, the Egg Farmers of Canada define the allergen, identify the causes of the allergy, and advice when to introduce eggs for the first time in your baby's diet. In case of an egg allergy, they inform about the duration and treatments available and finally, suggest egg-free substitutes for baking. Also, a complete listing of avoiding eggs in foods and non-foods for parents to eliminate any contact with this allergen is available online.

Well done to the Egg Farmers of Canada for adopting this positive approach regarding egg allergy and proving useful tips and links to help out nursing moms and family with young allergic children.
